Infrequently Asked Questions

The answers to questions nobody asked!

Personal Questions:

What's your blood type?
No idea. I know it's red, that's about it.

Are you butch, femme, or somewhere in between?
Femme mostly. Hence why my characters are also femmes.

Where in the world do you write from?
I split my time between the UK and France, and anywhere else that will have me. I don't like staying in the same place for too long, and thus am always moving about.

How many brothers and sisters do you have?
2 brothers, 1 sister.

Star sign?
Pisces

How old are you?
As of October 2016, 30 years old. And I'll be that age for as long as I can get away with saying it.

Writing-related Questions:

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

When I was about five and realized there were actually people who got paid to make stuff up!

What is the hardest book you've ever had to write, thus far?

My Beautiful Sin and the one I'm currently working on, Crave: Faye's Story.

My Beautiful Sin left me emotionally battered and bruised. There was this sense of doom hanging over me the whole time I was writing Lissa and Jean's scenes together. I knew what was coming, I knew everything Lissa didn't, so their happiness always seemed marred by the past.

Crave, the second book, is tough. It's the first time I'm really exploring the effects of infidelity and the break up of a family. I didn't realize it would be this hard emotionally to write. People go through this stuff every day, and I had to put myself in their shoes in order to write this book.

Which book was the most fun to write?

The Queen of Miami and Strummed. I liked the underground crime element to QofM, and the whole working for a celebrity thing in Strummed.

Who has been your least favorite character to write?

Definitely Lissa. Lissa to me represents everything she's supposed to represent: she's a needy, spoiled twenty-something with severe mommy issues. I wrote her exactly the way I wanted her, the way any girl who's been through her trauma would be. Is she annoying? Yes. I wanted to slap her so many times. But at the same time, I wanted to give her a hug.

Who did you have the most fun writing?

Autumn Anders from Strummed. She was such a bitch, had no filter, and did whatever and whomever she liked when she liked. I've written a few characters like that, but she really stood out.

Who's your favorite villain?

Yeznik Bedrosian from QofM. That man is pure evil, and I love him! Lol. I enjoyed writing his scenes.

Miscellaneous Questions:

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

Some type of bird. Not a turkey or anything like that. If I'm going to have wings, I'd like to be able to use them, you know.

An impossible request?

World peace.

Favorite author, singer, actor/actress, film, and TV show?

Shakespeare, Whitney Houston, Jack Nicholson/Dame Maggie Smith, District 9, The Blacklist.

What's your favorite city?

Rome. Hands down.

Your ideal woman?

Sofia Vergara. Isn't she everyone's ideal woman?
